SANDIE VAN VOORST
Head Trainer
Sandie got her first horse for at age 10 and by the age of 16 had fallen in love with dressage thanks to Jean Kirshman. Sandie Van Voorst Dressage was founded in 2005. Sandie worked extensively with Grand Prix rider and trainer Natalie Hinnemann for 12+ years and was her assistant trainer and barn manager at Hinnemann Farms. She has also cliniced with Olympians Lendon Grey and Kathleen Raine; as well as David Wightman, Jana Wagner, Bill Woods, Lauren Smith and Sarah Geikie. She currently rides with Brad Cutshall. Sandie was the 2004 recipient of the Dressage Foundation’s Gifted Scholarship and in 2005 earned her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze Medal and am now halfway to her Silver. She was a Participating Auditor in the USDF Instructor Certification workshops and would like to participate in the USDF “L” program in the future.
Sandie has brought many horses from their first rides to schooling FEI. She has developed a knack for bring horse along, whether they are young and starting from scratch or had are in need of physical or mental rehabilitation. She is able to instills strong basics while connecting with each horse on a personal level. Up until the last couple of years Sandie has had limited ability to be able to show but is excited to be able to change that with her current KWPN gelding Nazareth TM.

Sandie also has experience with many different breeds and has experience with many different disciplines. She was active in 4H as a child and has 2 South Dakota State 4H Championships, one in Showmanship and another in Hunter Equitation Over Fences. She has competed in hunter and western pleasure, hunter/jumper, trail, western riding, showmanship, halter and sport horse in hand classes.
